We share a lot of marketing guides here at Performance Marketer and people all ask “will this work for me?”…

The short answer is yes. The long answer is yes, but they will need some tweaking to best suit your audience.

Hey, what’s up guys, Anton here. In this video, I wanted to bring attention to something that I think is really an important message for beginners. If you are a marketer that has been doing this for any long amount of time you probably understand this but if you are just getting started you might almost feel overwhelmed and also too confident with some of the information that we share. I wanted to show you guys something. We publish content to our blog all the time, we try to do a lot of strategy and a lot of different guides that will actually help you do things that you can implement in your business right away. One of the big questions that you should ask yourself as you read through these guides and as you see out strategies is: will these things actually work in your business. That doesn’t mean that they don’t work – I don’t want to say that we are a publishing a bunch of content on Performance Marketer that is not going to help you and doesn’t work, but the truth is that everyone is going to get different takeaways and that is exactly what I want to talk to you about in this episode of Marketer Monday.

[00:01:01] Marketer Mondays
Most importantly I want to let you know that there are some things that I would consider truths: Marketing truths. Things that are always going to work regardless of what type of business you are in. Whether it is software, information products, physical products, whether you are selling computer monitors or chairs or information on how to get a college degree, things that will always help you. When we publish information on things like email marketing and the strategies for building an email list: that is always going to help you. When we talk about things like value adders and bringing people into your world and having them ascend through different programmes and eventually getting to your premium offer: that is always going to help you. Not to say that other things won’t, its’s just that you have to really think about how they apply to your business and how they apply to your audience. Now, this kind of is marketing 101 but what I really want you to focus on as you go through our material is that you have to know your customer or your lead better than anyone else. The way that you use this information and the way that you talk to your people is going to vary only based on who they are and what it is that you are selling to them. For example, if you are selling in the business opportunities space the way you speak to that person is going to be a lot different than if you sell a software that helps hospitals manage their billing. It’s a different messaging.

[00:02:22] The best example I can think of is a couple weeks ago on Marketer Mondays I did a video where I was talking about different ways to get your emails opened and I talked about different email subject lines and different strategies. One of those techniques is called the throat grabber because it grabs your attention right away and it makes people click and get into that email. While that is a great strategy to use for a lot of different industries for a B2B more professional space you are not going to do that. That’s what I mean by: yes, everything that we publish works but at the same time you have to know your audience and you have to tweak what we share with you because you have to know your audience better than anyone else. The same type of thing applies when I talk about these universal truths and strategies. When I talk about our webinar funnel, that works in any industry, if you want to run a webinar you can do it successfully anywhere but when I talk about our pre and post webinar follow up series and what we are trying to get people to do – that is going to have to be tweaked to match you people.

[00:03:22] I hope that helps for any the beginners out there who are curious and really want to do all this stuff but are feeling…. I don’t want you to think that it’s too easy, that’s what I am trying to say. This stuff works but makes sure you tweak it all to match your audience. Use the truths, these fundamental marketing techniques and sales techniques that we are teaching you but modify them and tweak them to serve your people. That is how you are going to get the best results. I hope you found that helpful guys, we have a lot of content based around these things coming out this week on Performance Marketer, on the website so go to www.performancemarketer.com if you are not there already. A lot of people take things for granted and if you get something like an email which shows you the top email subject lines to use and people think: great, I’ll just go ahead and use it. The truth is that you should be testing all this stuff on your own. It is always good to start out with a framework or a base, which is what we try and share with you, but you don’t want to take anything for granted. You want to take bits and pieces of information, like you find on Performance Marketer, and you are going to want to insert your own messaging to match your own audience and that’s how you are going to find out what gets the best results for you in your audience.

[00:04:27] Hope that helps guys, if you got value please do give it a thumbs up or a like. If you know anyone that this would help, definitely share it with them. Any of the people that are always looking for the swipe files, the blog posts, the headlines or the email subject lines: anyone who is looking for an easy win. Make sure they watch this because, while it can be easy, it does take some finesse and it takes you working with the templates that we provide you with here. Again, guys, I hope you found that valuable and I will see you next week for Marketer Monday. Thank you.
