How I Built the #1 Online Course & Helped 8,000+ People Quit Their Jobs

Building and growing dozens of eCommerce stores in multiple niches is a challenge. Especially when you don’t have a proper system or online course to follow.

That’s what led me to building, growing, and creating the “Best eCommerce Course” in the industry.

The 4-Hour Workweek” by Tim Ferris first introduced me to eCommerce more than a decade ago. Back then, I only had that one chapter on eCommerce, but I went ahead and built an online drop shipping store and started setting up Google Adwords.

I started to learn more and more by reading everything I could about drop shipping. Within a few years, I had made over a million dollars in revenue.

I had made these sales back when I didn’t know much about anything. Even though I didn’t know much, I was still willing to passionately learn about eCommerce.

As I learned more and more, I started to think maybe there are other people out there that I could connect with. That there must be other drop shipping business owners that I can learn from.

And that’s what led me down the road to creating my own online course and successfully building an international community of 8,000 entrepreneurs.

Filling a Space

Building the best eCommerce training course didn’t happen overnight. In fact, the inspiration to build my online course Drop Ship Lifestyle, came from a lack of trustworthy drop shipping communities.

As I searched for eCommerce and drop shipping communities, all I found were people who were pretending like they knew it all. From my real-world experience of building online businesses, I could see right through them and their cheap ploy to sell more eBooks or coaching sessions.

The craziest part though, no one was calling them out on their BS!

​So that’s what I started doing in 2012. I would post on forums where I found outdated information, saying, “This is wrong and here’s how to fix your drop shipping business.” Then I started sharing better ways to get suppliers or how to setup paid traffic. Basically, I was sharing everything I had learned over the years. And it didn’t take long before people started taking notice.

They would message me or email me saying,  “Listen, Anton, you obviously know what you’re talking about. Can I pay you for coaching?” At first, I said, no. That’s not what I wanted to do. I didn’t want to make a living as someone’s coach where I would advise them over the phone for hours and hours.

​Instead, I had the idea to take all of what I know about building an eCommerce business, and put it into a series of helpful videos. As I was drawing out my mind map for this new business venture, I started to realize something even bigger could be done. What if those series of videos came with an online community where everyone is learning, building their stores, and can connect on the same level?

That’s when I first thought to create an online course that’s built around a private community with people committed to learning eCommerce success from me and my trainings. Then we would have these discussions that could be at a higher level and everyone can grow instead of just staying at the bottom, only talking about ideas and theory. Instead, they’re talking about what they are practicing. This idea evolved into the first version of my Shopify course.

​As I was drawing my mind map for this new business venture, I started to realize something even bigger could be done. What if my video training came with a private community where everyone is learning and can connect on the same level?

Building a Community

That was five years ago, and now my community has grown to over 8,000 entrepreneurs in at least 30 different countries. While I’ve always known I’ve had the “Best eCommerce Course”, it is truly insane to me that I’ve created one the industry respects and recognizes as the best out there! I couldn’t be happier.

I know the reason that my business has grown in this way is because my members are some of most successful drop shippers in the world. With all the online training courses out there today, it’s this community that makes my online course special.

Literally, I teach my members in my course everything that I’ve learned over 10 years in this industry. On top of that, I bring in highly-successful people from our community to encourage and assist new or struggling members. I even bring in my eCommerce friends to teach their expertise through exclusive courses or webinars.

Having this extra help from other experts, helps me (I can only be stretched so thin) but most importantly, it is highly beneficial for my community. Not only are my members getting my perspective, my advice, and my experience, they have some of the top eCommerce experts out there motivating them and sharing their own expertise.

Growing My Business and My Members’ eCommerce Success

The only way I knew to ensure long-term success with my business was to make sure my members, my customers, were also successful. Keeping my focus on that, I began to grow my online course.

One of the biggest strategies that has helped grow ​this business and my members is my yearly tradition of “closing” Drop Ship Lifestyle. While I’m not actually shutting my online course down, I close enrollment for a period of time.

Doing this gives my team and I time to focus on discovering and creating new resources ​for our members. After a few months of hard work, we re-open enrollment and debut new content that makes it even easier for our members to find their own eCommerce success.

​This year’s release, Version 6.0, was the biggest one yet! ​The massive update unveiled new courses, resources, updated templates, and certifications. What’s great about this is the value it gives to my members. Even if they signed up a few years ago, these updates give them a reason to stay involved with my eCommerce course and the community.

Now, my eCommerce training course has different trainings on everything you need to know to be ​the best at drop shipping.The training is invaluable by itself, but our community is really the heart of my success. Our people are the best! And it’s the combination of those two that makes this the best eCommerce course.

Looking Ahead

2018 is already shaping up to be an incredible year for my eCommerce course. Just this month, Shopify voted it as the “Best eCommerce Course” in the industry!

As a celebration of their global community, Shopify asked for nominations for their Shopify Commerce Awards. Eight expert judges were chosen to sift through the submissions and vote on the best in 16 categories.

New this year was the “Best eCommerce Course” category in which my online training course was voted as the winner! In the newest Commerce Award category, Shopify was searching for the best in user-friendly, educational, and inspirational Shopify courses.

This award has definitely given my team and I a big push to not just keep growing this online course, but to keep going with even better training and content released regularly.  

We’ll be heading to Bali in October for our fifth annual members retreat, so I’ll have to wait until then to celebrate this success with the entire community. But it’ll be worth it!
